AppCheck maintains a dedicated image for deployment in Azure which can be found in the Azure marketplace.
Whilst any Azure customer can create a VM using the image, a licence key acquired from AppCheck will be required to activate the new scan hub,
The instructions below are correct at the time of writing, however Microsoft may make changes to the process at any time. It should be a self explanatory process to crate a VM using an image from the marketplace, but if you encounter any problems please contact AppCheck Support.
Setup Process
- Create a VM Using the Image from the Azure Marketplace
- Connect to the Scan Hub's Local Dashboard
- Complete the Configuration Process According to the Standard Setup Guide
Create a VM Using the Image from the Azure Marketplace
-
Click here to view the image in the Azure Marketplace.
-
Click "Get It Now".
-
Click "Continue".
-
Click "Create".
From here you will complete the standard process for creating a VM in Azure.
Only one specific setting is required:
- Under "Security type" ensure "Standard" is selected.
-
Complete the configuration process as per the requirements of your environment.
Upon completion, ports 22 and 8080 will automatically be opened for you on the given network interface. Being an internal scanning tool it is not recommended to have these ports exposed to the internet unless for debugging, instead it is recommended that you access your Scan Hub using a VPN to your private network.
Connect to the Scan Hub's Local Dashboard
-
Once the setup is complete and the firewall rules have been applied (this can take up to 5 mins) connect to the scan hub's dashboard in your web browser on port 8080 at https://[the scan hub's IP address]:8080. For example if the hub's IP address is 192.168.1.151 then to access its dashboard visit https://192.168.1.151:8080/.
